Are you ready?

Hi. My name is Mike. I am a UofA football fan.

And who could blame me? The atmosphere in Arizona Stadium on game day is truly a special experience. Take a look around and you'll see fans young and old. You'll see screaming students covered in red and blue paint. Smells of popcorn, nachos and hot dogs waft through the air. A highlight reel displaying the best of teams past plays on the jumbotron. The announcer's voice booms over the stadium p.a. system. And here they come..."your Arizona Wildcats." It never gets old. College football is back in the desert.

Arizona is not a favorite to win the Pac-10. And they might not earn a bowl bid this season. But the hype surrounding the wildcats this season is enormous. Here are a few things I'm excited about:

1. Willie Tuitama is ready to go and will have the opportunity to play an entire schedule.

2. Louis Holmes was the most sought after junior college prospect this past off-season. Ranked #1 by Rivals.com, the 6-6, 270-pound defensive end will add more speed and toughness to the D-line.

3. 6 wins. 6 wins and Arizona is headed to a bowl game for the first time since 1998.

Arizona opens it's 2006 season next Saturday at home against Brigham Young University. I know where I'll be.

This season I'll be living it live and recapping my experience for you each week. I hope you have as much fun reading this as I will writing it.
